If a camera drops offline, SEiNG flags it straight away on the Dashboard and emails the relevant people — so you’re not the last to know. And it’s not just you keeping watch: proactive system health monitoring is built into our managed service, so our team’s on it too. You can see this for yourself when you book a demo.
How SEiNG monitors your cameras
Every connected camera is monitored continuously by SEiNG. If one goes offline, it’s flagged in real time, so you can spot and fix the issue quickly rather than discovering a gap in coverage after the fact.
Notifications and response
When a camera goes offline, SEiNG sends alerts to the right people — you can tailor who gets notified and how, based on urgency. Technical staff can get more detail, including likely causes and troubleshooting steps, so they can get the camera back online fast. On our side, we’re already starting to troubleshoot rather than waiting for you to raise it.
Staying covered while a camera’s down
One offline camera doesn’t have to mean a blind spot. SEiNG can fall back on adjacent camera views to help cover the gap, and logs every outage — useful for reviewing what happened and tightening things up afterwards.
It’s also worth knowing that a temporary internet drop and a camera actually going offline aren’t the same thing. If you’re using our Cloud Gateway, footage keeps recording locally during a broadband outage and uploads automatically once the connection’s back — so a short drop in connectivity doesn’t mean lost footage.
