Connect Cloud Cameras straight to SEiNG, no gateway needed
Our agent is in certain brands of cloud camera, for the most streamlined and integrated cloud CCTV experience. Cloud-ready cameras, such as Axis, connect directly to SEiNG with no local video management hardware. They securely send encrypted, motion triggered video over ethernet for bandwidth management. Each camera operates independently for greater resilience. This deployment option is ideal if you’re starting fresh and want a single platform to view and manage your new cameras. However, cloud cameras can be expensive compared to alternatives.
Connect Direct IP cameras to SEiNG with no extra hardware
If you want to keep existing IP cameras but don’t want a bridge or gateway to get cloud video surveillance, you can connect your IP cameras to SEiNG over the local network or internet. Video is streamed directly to SEiNG’s UK cloud. Connection is delivered securely via VPN or NAT, for safe and reliable access to your video streams. This option is most suitable if you have strong connection and only a few cameras to manage.
When should a cloud gateway be used?
SEiNG’s third deployment option is cloud gateway. This is a small plug-and-play device that connects cameras to SEiNG. It can be used with new or existing cameras, offering buffering, bandwidth management, and cyber-hardening if a dual network approach is used.
If you have weak internet, legacy cameras, or a large estate, the cloud gateway may be a more suitable and cost effective method to deploy SEiNG.
No matter which deployment method you choose, you’ll still be able to access every SEiNG feature, our managed service, and gain UK cloud storage.
Does it matter what cameras I use with SEiNG?
SEiNG works with any ONVIF or RTSP camera, meaning you can more than likely use the platform with the cameras you already have. You can see a list of tried and tested brands and models here. There is no proprietary hardware, no forced rip & replace, and no feature limitations to certain brands. This gives you the freedom to mix and match cameras, brands, and even deployment methods across your sites. Therefore, you might decide to use direct IP with legacy cameras in your office, cloud gateway at your factory, and then cloud cameras at your new store – and see it all in one platform.
