Navigating your SEiNG Dashboard

Your Dashboard is designed to give you an at-a-glance overview into site health, as soon as you log in.

At the top of your dashboard, SEiNG clearly displays:

You’ll instantly spot any offline devices or sites by the red number shown next to the total.

Sites

Sites are visualised on the map, with nearby locations clustered into a single numbered marker. As you zoom in using your mouse or the +/– controls, clusters expand to show individual sites, colour-coded in line with the key below.

SEiNG maps

Next to each site name on the key is a colour coded count of your devices and maps per site. These follow the same traffic light system as the counts on the top of the dashboard:

  • Green = online
  • Red = offline

Note: if a device is unexpectedly offline, as a managed service, our team will be investigating the reason why on your behalf.

Sites shortcuts

The grey button above the map offers a shortcut to view and manage all of your sites.

Click on a site name to view more details. You’ll then be able to access maps, cases, and device status specific to that location.

Dashboard - Site Overview

You can also click on the device or map counts, if you’d like to view a list of site devices, or associated maps.

Devices

Below Sites is devices.

The devices shown will be those with the most recent heartbeat. In SEiNG, a heartbeat is a periodic signal used to monitor the live connection status between on-site hardware and the SEiNG cloud servers, ensuring 24/7 system integrity.

You’ll also be able to see uptime: a measure of how long your camera has been continuously operational.

This will take you to the device overview, where you can see the live feed, latest activity, device details. You can also remotely configure the device, depending on your permissions, or create a preset for PTZ cameras.

Maps

SEiNG’s map feature allows you to upload site maps or floorplans, and plot your cameras and their field of view. It’s designed to help you identify blind spots, optimise coverage, or plan the ideal camera layout. Your Dashboard gives you an overview of your maps and enables you to stream live footage, if you need a quick view of what’s going on at your site.

See all of your uploaded site maps and floor plans here. The grey button to the right of the Maps heading will take you to your maps overview within Sites. Click any map image to expand the view or use the green buttons below the images to switch between site maps. Maps overview

Understanding your SEiNG maps

Once you click into a map from the overview, you’ll see an expanded view. Your cameras will also be plotted onto the image, shown as:

  • Green = online
  • Red = offline

By default, device labels will be visible. If you wish to hide them for a cleaner view of your map, simply click the green Hide Label button, top left corner.

Maps Detail

Next to your device label, you’ll notice an eye symbol.

Click this, and a window will appear. Tailor your workspace by opening as many windows as needed and dragging them to your preferred layout on the dashboard.

Use the switch at the bottom right of the window to toggle between a bandwidth-saving Preview or a full Live stream for immediate, real-time observation. In live stream mode, you can also turn sound on by clicking the sound icon in the bottom left corner.

If you want to view footage in full screen or escape full screen, simply double click on the window or use the full screen icon in the bottom right corner of the window.

Cases

In SEiNG, you can create a Case for any footage that requires further analysis or investigation. It’s an easy way to share footage, add notes, and collaborate with your team.

Your Dashboard will show your 5 most recent Cases. You’ll have an overview of the date it was created, devices, and the title.

SEiNG Cases

The grey button next to the title Open Cases will take you to the Cases tab in SEiNG. From here, you’ll be able to view and manage all of your open cases.

That’s the SEiNG Dashboard!

Now you know how to use your SEiNG dashboard. From here, you can navigate elsewhere on the platform using the sidebar menu.
