Creating and managing site maps with SEiNG
Get a visual overview of devices at your site with SEiNG’s map tool. Upload maps or floorplans and plot your cameras and their field of view, to help you identify blind spots, optimise coverage, or plan the ideal camera layout. Here’s how:

How to access maps in SEiNG
Log into SEiNG. You’ll see your existing maps on your SEiNG dashboard. To navigate to the maps tab:- Go to sites on the sidebar menu (indicated by green square on image)
- On the top navigation bar, click Maps (indicated by yellow square on image)
- You’ll now see any existing maps and be able to add new ones
How to add a new SEiNG map
- Click the blue “add new” button on the maps tab
- Name your map and choose the file
- Click save
How to add devices on a SEiNG map
- Select the map you want to edit
- Select the device you’d like to plot
- Click on the map. Your device will now show as a dot, with a shaded area to indicate field of view
- To reposition the device, click and drag the dot
- To accurately represent your device's coverage, simply click and drag the shaded area to adjust the field of view
How to view live footage within a SEiNG map
- Click on the eye icon within the shaded field of view of your device (green square on image)
- A modal window will pop up showing a live stream of your footage
- If user permissions allow, you can use the relevant buttons within the window to switch between standard or high definition, PTZ, trigger outputs
How to delete a map in SEiNG
- Click the yellow "Edit Map" icon next to the map name
- The map editor will open
- Click the red "delete" button (highlighted by yellow box on image)
- Your map has now been deleted
