SEiNG and AI Act Compliance

From 2nd August 2027, the final phase of Europe's AI Act will be fully in effect. Formally called the Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 laying down harmonised rules on artificial intelligence, it means all remaining AI systems in scope must be fully compliant with the regulation and subject to full enforcement across the EU.

SEiNG is a managed cloud CCTV platform that uses AI to enhance video monitoring, search, and security operations. As AI regulation evolves across Europe under the EU AI Act, we are designing and operating SEiNG to align with emerging compliance requirements from the ground up.

Our approach to AI compliance

SEiNG is built around a risk-based and security-first design philosophy. We recognise that AI used in video surveillance and analytics can fall into higher-risk categories, and we apply appropriate safeguards accordingly.

Our compliance approach focuses on four core principles:

1. Risk-based AI design

We assess AI features based on their use in real-world environments, particularly where security, monitoring, or detection capabilities are involved. This ensures that higher-impact functionality is supported with stronger governance, controls, and validation processes. Note: customer data is never used to train our AI models; all training is performed using our own video data.

2. Human oversight and control

SEiNG is designed to support operators, not completely replace them.

  • AI provides insights and alerts, set up by humans
  • AI supports footage retrieval by a human, using AI-backed object detection filters
  • Humans remain in full control of decision-making
  • All key actions can be reviewed, verified, and overridden

This ensures appropriate accountability in operational environments.

3. Transparency in AI outputs

We are committed to clear and understandable AI behaviour.

  • AI-generated detections will be clearly labelled within the platform
  • Outputs are presented with context to support informed decisions
  • Users will remain aware when AI is being used to assist monitoring and analysis

4. Data protection and security

Security and privacy are foundational to the SEiNG platform.

  • Locally hosted infrastructure
  • GDPR-aligned data handling practices
  • Secure access controls and audit logging
  • Retention policies configurable to customer requirements

Ongoing compliance alignment

The EU AI Act introduces phased requirements through to full application in 2027. SEiNG is actively aligning its platform, documentation, and governance processes to meet the expected standards for providers of AI-enabled security systems.

This includes ongoing work around:

  • Technical documentation and system transparency
  • Model performance monitoring and validation
  • Risk management and incident review processes
  • Conformity readiness for regulated deployments

Built for responsible AI in security

SEiNG is designed for organisations that need scalable, modern CCTV infrastructure without compromising on governance, safety, or regulatory readiness.

Our goal is simple: powerful AI-driven security, delivered responsibly, transparently, and in line with emerging regulation.
