SEiNG platform update: Spring 2026 release notes

written on by Megan Armstrong

This major update will be launched on 3rd April 2026, introducing significant performance improvements and a refreshed user interface. We’ve focused on making footage retrieval faster and navigation more intuitive to help you manage your security more effectively. Plus, we have new features, including an updated Recordings tab and video verification tool.

General Platform Enhancements

  • Refreshed Interface: A cleaner look and feel featuring a new collapsible navigation menu and filters.
  • Performance Improvements: System optimisations now allow for faster footage retrieval and more responsive navigation.
  • Preview & Live Modes: "SD/HD" views have been renamed to Preview and Live for better clarity. Live video playback is now significantly smoother.
  • Intuitive Playback Controls:
    • New Scrub Bar: Effortlessly scan through footage previews to locate key moments.
    • Quick Shortcuts: Double-click any media window to toggle full-screen mode. Press Esc to exit.
    • Instant Audio: Toggle sound on or off directly from the media player (if enabled by your camera).
  • Standalone Notes: You can now add notes to footage instantly without the need to create a formal Case.
  • Stronger role based access: plus, more consistent page visibility and permission handling for users, admins, and owners and Improved device, group, and site access behaviour.

Dashboard & Maps

  • Site Clustering: The map view now groups nearby locations into numbered clusters. Zooming in expands these into individual sites, making navigation easier for businesses with multiple nearby premises.
  • Interactive Map Pop-ups: When viewing live streams via the dashboard map, you can now hear audio (if enabled) and access full-screen mode directly from the pop-up window.

Recordings & Review

  • Integrated Playback: Media now plays directly within the Recordings tab rather than in a separate pop-up. This allows you to sync and play multiple windows simultaneously to locate incidents faster.
  • Advanced Search & Filtering:
    • Markers: "Object" search has been renamed to “Markers”.
    • Keyword Search: Search via text—ideal for finding footage with specific notes attached.
    • Category Filters: Filter by Classification, Counting, or Alert.
    • Group Filtering: You can now filter by Groups as well as individual Sites.
  • Visual Timelines: When a device and date are selected, SEiNG now defaults to a timeline view showing camera activity and markers. You can switch back to the traditional chart view via the dropdown menu if preferred.
  • Contextual Review: Selecting a recording now takes you straight to the detail. For broader context, SEiNG can show footage across the entire site or group (+/- 5 minutes), which can be adjusted via the filters.
• Instant Sharing: Share footage quickly by copying a direct URL. Email and Case sharing options remain available.

Video Wall

  • Integrated Filters: You can now apply filters directly while viewing a Video Wall.
  • Direct Platform Access: Internal users can now access shared Video Walls directly through the SEiNG platform, rather than needing to locate external "view-only" links.

Video Verification

A new tool is now available to help you ensure the integrity of your evidence—ideal for insurance claims or legal proceedings.

  • Access: Navigate to SEiNG.ai/verification, select Verify a Recording in the Help menu, or use the Verify Video action in the Recordings tab.
  • Functionality: Upload a file or enter a URL to instantly confirm if the footage is original and unmanipulated.

Alerts & Access Control

  • Customisable Alerts: Choose whether specific alerts appear in your Watchlist or create a Marker for faster retrieval when an alert is triggered.
  • Activity Scheduling: Use the new 7-day timer to control exactly when alerts are active. Two separate segments allow you to set specific "out-of-hours" periods.
  • Role-Based Access: Administrators can now use the 7-day timer to limit user access to the SEiNG platform during specific hours.
