We’ve been listening to your feedback, and this latest SEiNG update brings some of the features you’ve been asking for, alongside a few extras.
Here’s what’s new.
SEiNG now allows you to redact faces in just a few clicks, helping you protect personal data and meet your data protection obligations when sharing footage. Our redaction feature is built inside our VSaaS platform, not requiring any other evidence management products. Less exporting, less risk. Simply create a case with the footage you need to redact and run the workflow. Within minutes, you’ll have a redacted version of the media. Note that source media will not be affected; instead, it will remain in the platform with its watermark intact to verify its originality.
Number plate recognition is now built into footage retrieval for selected cameras. This means that with SEiNG, you can get ANPR with a broad range of legacy or new ONVIF or RTSP cameras (compatibility subject to cameras field of view and plate size). Speak to your account manager to get this switched on.
Once enabled, an ANPR category appears in Recordings, and every plate detected is added as a marker. Select a plate to pull up all footage where it appears or click a marker directly on a recording to jump straight to that point in the media.
When SEiNG identifies an object, it adds a marker icon below the relevant footage in the media window. Previously, the icon simply indicated that an object had been identified. Now, hover over the marker for an instant preview of the event, then click to play the footage from that exact point in time. All to help you find what you need, faster.
When you select a date, device, and timeline view, you can now scrub through footage directly from your timeline, rather than having to scroll and view individual media windows.
Previously, Live View streamed footage from online cameras, but to look back at earlier footage, you had to navigate to Latest Events or Recordings.
Now, Live View includes instant playback. Hover over the camera view to reveal the control bar, where you can scrub through recent footage, see real-time markers directly on the timeline, plus preview motion areas and what’s activating them.
Once you hit play, you can also add:
All without leaving the Live View media window, making it easier to investigate events as they happen.
Rearrange, resize and change the orientation of video feeds, so you can create a video wall tailored to your operation.
Site maps show the geographical location of every site. Previously, adding a site address would automatically place a pin on the map, but the location could sometimes be slightly off. Now, you can nudge the map position from site edit, to get your site pin exactly where it should be.
The device details section has been reworked to surface the most useful information first, with more available when you expand it. Motion detection tuning has also been enhanced for more accurate results, while device credentials are now masked to provide an additional layer of security.
